The Consulate General of Spain and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce are delighted to share with you the upcoming Musical performance ¨EAST OF LA MANCHA¨. The Musical insisting of songs inspired by Don Quixote will be presented on 9th November 2016 by MUSICA VIVA at the Hong Kong City Hall.

 

In a village of La Mancha whose name I prefer not to remember, a gentleman lived not long ago, one of those that keep an old shield and a lance in a rack...

So begins Miguel de Cervantes’s great novel Don Quixote. Its timeless story has inspired plays, films, operas, ballets, musicals, instrumental and vocal music. This very special concert, arranged by Lo Kingman at the invitation of the Spanish-speaking community, will feature a century of Don Quixote-themed lyricism from Spanish zarzuela to French art song and Broadway musical sung by Hong Kong’s leading operatic singers. Several of the pieces have never before been performed in Hong Kong.
